Care Village

This individual or group of individuals will coordinate a series of three tents where partnered service organizations that provide needed services to active duty and veteran military personnel and families (such as the USO, Soldiers Angels, Family Readiness Groups, VFW, American Legion, and others) will be provided the opportunity to meet, greet, educate, and solicit support from festival attendees. You will be a WDC representative on day of Freedom Festival to these organizations.

Military Display
Each of the military branches will be on hand and displaying military equipment as well as several chapters of vintage military vehicle associations. Patriotic motorcycle groups are also expected to display. This individual will coordinate each of the groups participation, identifying the equipment they will be showcasing and coordinating the actual display on site.

Wreath Laying
A solemn memorial for the fallen will be held prior to the Freedom Festival with a simple wreath laying ceremony in downtown Barrington. This individual will coordinate with the participating veterans groups – VFW, American Legion, and possibly others the actual ceremony. Additionally this individual will coordinate with our Military Display liaison the participation of these groups to form a small parade from the commuter lot to the ceremony, and from the ceremony to the Freedom Festival. All matters involving the police department have already been arranged.

Stage Events
A focal point for the Freedom Festival will be our stage and the heart touching, entertaining and educational events that will be performed from it. World class as well as local groups will perform such as the US Army Field Band’s Jazz Ambassadors, the USO, Country music star Keni Thomas and Barrington’s own Bataille dance academy. Military speakers from the Army, Marines and other services will provide compelling first had accounts about the war on terrorism as well as the importance of our continued support. The individual leading our stage events will play a key role as the stage producer, coordinating the three hours of acts moving on and off stage.

Freedom Festival Producer
The coordination of the physical layout of the Freedom Festival will be the focus of this individual’s contribution. Providing an effective layout and flow for 3,000 to 5,000 attendees will include coordinating and arranging the staging, the tenting, the electrical needs, the sound system, and other such requirements.
