The video cast  provided  an up-close-and-personal opportunity to hear from Major General Formica and learn how his command is partnering with the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the international community to help to develop a stable Afghanistan, strengthen the rule of law, and deter and defeat terrorism within its borders.

Colonel Thoele discussed his command's mission, where almost 3000 Illinois National Guard Soldiers are assisting the effort to build the Afghan Army and police forces by serving as mentors and trainers.  Both Commanders fielded questions from the virtual audience following their opening remarks.

2010 Freedom Walk


We are pleased to be partnering with Operation Home Front Illinois to bring you our Annual Freedom Walk during the 2010 Freedom Festival.


The goal of our annual Freedom walk is to continue a national tradition to reflect on the lives lost on September 11, renew our commitment to freedom and the values of our country, to honor our active duty military personnel, national guard, and reserve soldiers, their families and veterans.

Freedom Walk participants will be given T-Shirts.
